This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!

I fucking hate that little sidebar thing on Deviations that show "more deviations from -insert username here-". At least, I hate it on my stuff. I have some shitty-ass art that I did way back at the dawn of time, and for whatever reason, that sidebar thing only ever shows some of my worst "art". Like, knock it off.
I could delete that shit, but most of it was lost when I had a bigass hard drive purge awhile back.
So there is a reason I keep that old art around, despite hating the fact that people can see it.
Typical of a creative person, I generally feel like I can't seem to improve- ever. Something I'm working on doesn't turn out the way I wanted it to, and I chuck my laptop into the sea (A Dell rolling in the deep har har). Why bother? What's the point?? There are so many talented artists out there making me (and everyone else for that matter) look bad.
Well that goddamn recommendations sidebar shit does an excellent job of showing me how much I've improved. "Look at this brain fart you did in 2008. You thought you were hot shit then. Feeling like shit about that painting you just posted? Let me put this 2010 atrocity right next to it so you can see how much you've improved in just two years."
I still cringe when I see what my sidebar is suggesting to other people, but at least for a few minutes when I post a new piece of art, I feel like a quality artist who's actually getting somewhere.
